Sheet Separator
DURAMAG Magnetic Sheet Separators are designed to reduce costs and increase safety when destacking steel sheet stock. A constant, powerful magnetic field automatically separates the sheets. As fast as the top sheet is removed, the next sheet instantly moves up. The operator quickly and safely handles one sheet at a time – no longer is prying of sticky, oily, pre-finished or polished sheets necessary. Also eliminated are die damaging double sheets.
DURAMAG Magnetic Sheet Separators will handle steel sheets of almost any length, width or shape. For maximum effectiveness, locate the separator at the corner(s) of large sheets and in the center of the width or length of smaller sheets. Separators placed opposite each other on small sheets will actually float the sheet. The sheets near the top of the stack separate instantly from a 3/4" to 1-1/2" gap, depending on sheet thickness and size. As soon as the sheets are removed from the separator, they are no longer magnetized.

NOTE: These tables are only a guide to assist you in selecting the separator. Several other variables must also be considered (a) stickiness or viscosity of the oil or draw compound between sheets, (b) presence and condition of overlapping burn on the metal edge due to a dull shear, (c) alignment of the steel stack - each sheet should be relatively flush with the separator face and (d) shape and contact area of the sheet stock edge i.e. is it square? scroll type edge? unusual shape?...
NOTE: Select a separator a minimum of 2 inches higher than the normal stack height to allow for climb.
NOTE: Please specify if you are separating round blanks so that a wear strip can be located in the center of the fanner.
NOTE: Special designs and modifications available on request.
