Quality Control Technician

The Quality Control Technician role at Dura Magnetics, Inc., a premier custom magnetics manufacturer, is responsible for the quality control process of the magnet, including but not limited to the inspection, evaluation and maintenance of data, compliance, and communication. More specifically, this role will ensure the magnets are in compliance with customer requirements and company standards.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform measurements using a variety of measurement tools and standardized measurement plans
  • Records measurements to create official records
  • Evaluates vendor submission documents for compliance and uploads as objective evidence to the vendor certificate repository
  • Assist the QC Lab Supervisor with calibration of measurement equipment
  • Perform inspections across all stages of production
  • Assists QC Lab Supervisor with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
  • Prepare customer submission documents (QC Data, Material Certifications, Declarations, etc.)
  • Creates and executes vision and touch probe inspection programs via Nikon Metrology
  • Submits Nonconforming log entries upon findings as per reaction plan
  • Ensures that lab supplies are available when needed
  • Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

Position Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
  • Solid understanding of quality control measurement equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
  • Basic computer and Excel skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to complete with or without an accommodation
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to manipulate small parts for up to the duration of a shift
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to the duration of a shift
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
